Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from spring of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and regular reactions on court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the final five points to take the lead.
The pair swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional victory, took control to force a third set.
The opponent defended four initial break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
